Not To Be Missed At Glastonbury: SATURDAY

With Glastonbury festival less than a week away some of the biggest acts in the music world will adorn the famed stages across the festival. The lucky few (thousand) who managed to scramble to get a ticket will be in for a treat with one of the best Glasto line-ups yet!

Below we’ve compiled a list of acts hosting the Saturday that you just have to see!

Metallica- Pyramid Stage 21:45- 23:45

One of the most controversial Glasto headliners for a while, it appears that over 40 years of the legendary festival some people think it’s still not ready for a metal band headlining. Having seen the metal overlords first hand I know they will push all the sceptics aside. One of the tightest and enthralling bands around expect shredding, mosh pits and enough pyro to burn their set into Glastonbury folklore.

Vance Joy- The Park Stage 12:00-12:40

The most chilled out lunch you’ll probably have over the week. Bring ya butties down to The Park Stage to see Australian singer songwriter formally known as James Keogh bless the crowd with his chilled out Aussie acoustic sounds. Expect to hear the radio friendly smash hit, Riptide as well as host of tracks from his EP God Loves You When You’re Dancing.

Fat Boy Slim- Sonic 22:30- 00:30

Catch the legendary DJ on the Sonic stage leading into the twilight hours. They say Glastonbury completely changes when the sun goes down and the ground-breaking big beat star will surely only help it get along. Get your dancing shoes on and throw the shapes to classic tracks from his 1998 landmark album You’ve Come Along Baby as well as some newer tracks like Eat Sleep Rave Repeat.

Circa Waves- Other Stage 12:30-13:10

The cream of the crop of the chirpy new indie rock bands.  We see year after year wave after wave of new young indie rock bands come to grace our iPods only to be forgotten about 3 months later. Circa Waves are different, they’re here to stay and you can find out why by checking them out on the Other Stage at lunchtime so grab some overpriced festival food and head down. Imagine all of the good points of 00’s indie rock blended together…

Royal Blood- John Peel Stage 14:00- 14:40

Now be prepared for one of the most explosive new bands around. A duo from Brighton which sound more like a hard rock band straight out an early nineties Seattle rock club. Thoroughbred riffery, driving drum solos and a big dollop of mosh pits the Royal Blood show is guaranteed to be a heavy highlight of the Worthy Farm weekend. Turn everything up to 11 and experience them  in the afternoon.
