Not To Be Missed at Glastonbury: FRIDAY

With Glastonbury festival less than a week away some of the biggest acts in the music world will adorn the famed stages across the festival. The lucky few (thousand) who managed to scramble to get a ticket will be in for a treat with one of the best Glasto line-ups yet!

Below we’ve compiled a list of acts hosting the Friday that you just have to see!

Elbow- Pyramid Stage 20:00-21:15

The Bury five-piece increased their national treasure status further this year by releasing their sixth album, The Take Off & Landing Of Everything,  it gathered critical acclaim as well as debuting at number one. Expect a set full of delicately beautiful melodies to behemoth festival-defining anthems all contained within the wit and presence of Guy Garvey.

Foster The People- Other Stage 17:50-18:50

Psychedelic LA rockers, Foster The People, grace the Other Stage at around dinner time on the Friday. Approaching 4 years since their debut globe dominating track, “ Pumped Up Kicks”, came out the trio have come a long way releasing two smash hit albums. A show perfect for those who want to shamelessly boogie down in the crowd like no one is watching.

Haim- The Other Stage 16:25- 17:20

(Probably) the best triplets in music for the past 20 years. The sisters grace Glastonbury once more with their vivid harmonies and catchy melodies with a twinge of 80s groove in there too. They’re on just before Foster The People on The Other Stage so be prepared for a double dosing of stateside rock. Wear flowers in your hair and get down to see tracks “The Wire”, “Forever” and “Change Your Mind”

Chvrches- John Peel Stage 19:45- 20:45

A slice of 80s electro without the leather pants, shoulder pads and dodgy haircuts. The band that basically hasn’t stopped touring for 2 years, the Scottish trio bring their electro-pop to the John Peel Stage to peak a stellar line up on the legendary stage. Expect synthy riffs, cheery beats like “Mother We Share”, “Gun” and other tracks off their brilliant album “The Bones Of What You Believe” all entwined together with the spritely voice of Lauren Mayberry.

Michael Kiwanuka- Avalon stage 15:45-16:45

A modern day Otis Redding. Fresh off finishing his anticipated second album the Muswell Hill soul man plays the ‘bit of everything’ stage in the middle of day, hopefully in booming sunlight but it is a British festival so bring your wellies along. Get down to it if you’re a fan of chilled out acoustic singer songwriters with a voice which soothes more than a cold Lucozade on a bad hangover.
