Mount Moriah announce new album, ‘How To Dance’

The record will be released on March 4th.

Mount Moriah have unveiled that they will release their third studio album, How To Dance, on March 4th next year, via Merge Records. Over the past couple of years, the North Carolina-based band have slowly been rediscovering and retuning their sound. Exploring themes including alchemy, mysticism and sacred geometry — the symbolic science behind religious buildings — Mount Moriah have been trying to recapture what it means to be ‘Southern Gothic.’ Made up of a jazz bassist (Casey Toll), metal guitarist (Jenks Miller) and country singer (Heather McEntire), Mount Moriah’s new geometrical sound has taken an unexpected and enjoyable turn. Case and point: check out their twangy new single ‘Cardinal Cross’ below.

According to sources, the direction that How To Dance follows is a direct and dark one. Mount Moriah’s third full-length sees them stretching further to explore their collective interest in the intangible fringes of fate and synchronicity. You can preorder How To Dance here. Track listing:
