Launchbox: Racing Glaciers

Anthemic indie folk 5-piece Racing Glaciers hail from Macclesfield, already boasting support slots with the likes of Kodaline, this band are making big strides into their own headline tours.

Originally intended to be a one off collaboration, the band recorded their first EP in a living room in just a week, after catching massive attention, the EP climbed to #1 in the bandcamp alternative charts which has saw the band go on to support artists such as Amber Run, Kodaline and Dan Croll.

The anthemic rock sound mixed with harmonic synth melodies and the occasional use of a trumpet, Racing Glaciers bring a sound that makes them different from bands like Kodaline, but keeps them in a similar bracket, and with the success that Kodaline have had, its a good bracket of music to be in. Racing Glaciers create an atmosphere like no other, an atmosphere full of love, but yet so full of energy and a stage presence and sound that grasps your full attention.

Their 2nd EP ‘Ahead of you Forever’ was released in February, which was followed up with a tour. Lead single ‘Moths’ is an anthemic building track, full of love before breaking out into a guitar solo ending, a perfect song to describe this bands unique and wonderful sound, catch them in a small venue while you still have the chance.
