21 year old, Dublin singer-songwriter, Gavin James, seems to be easing into the spotlight more and more recently with his unbelievable raw talent.
Gavin takes the almost over-heard sound of sweet vocals alongside an acoustic guitar, to an entire new level with a clear passion and ability for the genre. The addictive, gentle guitar patterns which lay under a soothing voice as it quite often breaks into a flawless falsetto is something to admire, and it only benefits from the lyrical flourishes his songs reflect time and time again. With his debut EP- ‘Say Hello EP’ having stood tall at the well-deserved No.1 spot on iTunes, no one could argue he’s not doing something right.
Although it was widely expected, Gav was crowned the winner of the Meteor Choice prize for Irish song of the year 2012 with title track off his EP, ‘Say Hello’. The evidence stands in these achievements that Gavin James is putting smiles on many faces at home in Ireland, and it doesn’t take much to predict his transition to international acclamation in the very near future- watch this space!
