If by chance you were catching a flight at Baltimore airport last week, then you probably would have heard the tranquillising tones of Animal Collective being fed through the tannoy system. After this wonderfully random debut of new music, the freak-folk four-piece have announced their new album, titled Painting With, via Domino Records.
The album will be available in seven different artwork variations, each of which features a painting of one of the band members. The paintings were done by artist DeGraw. According to the press release (via Pitchfork), the deluxe LP version of Painting With comes with a bonus 7″ featuring two non-album songs, as well as a “zoetropic turntable slipmat…” that “animates when activated in part with a strobe light”.
