10 Bands Not To Miss At T In The Park 2013

As we hit the final straight towards this year’s T In The Park festival and the 20th year anniversary celebrations start, its time for everyone to start deciding on who to see.

As we get set to hit T In The Park ourselves, we have picked out 10 bands, besides the stage headliners, you shouldn’t miss at this weekend’s festival, which is forecast to be as hot as the line-up:

Chase & Status

Breaking into mainstream success with the smash hit ‘End Credits’ with Plan B back in 2009, since then the drum n’ bass duo have gone from strength to strength, with massive hits under their belts including ‘Time’ featuring Delilah, ‘Let You Go’ featuring Mali and ‘Blind Faith’ featuring Liam Bailey just to name a few. The duo caused a stir with a second headline slot at last years Download festival and have most recently headlined the Other Stage at this year’s Glastonbury festival. Go and find your dancing shoes and party the night away with the biggest drum n’ bass duo around.

Imagine Dragons

With a massively acclaimed debut album under their belts and selling out a massive UK tour in April, opening the King Tuts Wah Wah Tent seems an under-estimation of a band that are rapidly climbing their way to the top, but that slot is your chance to see this band on a smaller scale before they take to bigger stages and more than probably arena’s around the UK in the future. Debut album ‘Night Visions’ was released in the UK in February and still stands firm in the top 10 iTunes album chart. A band to start your weekend off perfectly.

The View

THE VIEWA main stage slot on Saturday for one of the biggest and most popular bands in Scotland, with a mass of indie classics under their belts such as ‘Same Jeans’, ‘Sunday’ and ‘Five Rebeccas’, The View will certainly spice up the main stage and draw one of the biggest crowds of the weekend, The View at festivals in Scotland are always unmissable.

The Strypes

Tipped to be one of the biggest bands to breakthrough in the next 12 months, the 4 youngsters from Ireland have picked up praise from some of the biggest music critics around. With constant sold out shows all around the UK so far this year and a debut album on the way, The Strypes are a future main stage band, if not a festival headlining band in the future. Most recently playing a support slot for The Courteeners at one of their homecoming Manchester gigs and going on tour with Arctic Monkeys later this year, their reputation as one of the best live young bands around speaks for itself.

Daughter

Daughter are hitting T In The Park off the back of headlining the BBC Introducing Stage at this years Glastonbury festival, bands over the years have used the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury as a massive platform to break into mainstream success, artists including the likes of Ed Sheeran and Two Door Cinema Club have seen massive success after playing sets on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury. After having a successful debut album this year, and their smash hit ‘Youth’ seemingly known by everyone, Daughter are heading for bigger and better things, catch them on a smaller stage whilst you can.

Miles Kane

Taken under the wing of the ‘Modfather’ Paul Weller and constant work, even a side project with close friend Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys, Miles Kane brings a sharp, guitar fuelled set everywhere he goes, a set that always attracts massive crowds and even bigger sing alongs. Another artist with a massively successful album out this year, celebrated by a UK tour later this year, Miles has already played a homecoming gig in Liverpool as part of JD Roots Best Small Venue, went on the NME Awards tour alongside Django Django, Peace and Palma Violets and most recently was the main support for one of the Courteeners homecoming shows. An artist that never fails to deliver on the live stage.

Alunageorge

Mostly recognised for their smash hit collaboration with dance duo Disclosure on ‘White Noise’ and their own hit ‘Attracting Flies’, Alunageorge have filled tents and stages up and down the country at smaller festivals such as Liverpool Sound City and Parklife festival and coming out with great live reviews from everyone, now the big festivals are here, expect Alunageorge to step up another level. New track ‘You Know You Like It’ will be one of the songs that people will remember this festival by.

The 1975

The biggest breakthrough band of 2013 by far, The 1975 have picked up enormous praise from just about everybody in the music business, their gig tickets seem to be like gold dust, their live shows massively impressive and Matt Healy’s querky voice standing out from every other indie rock band out there. The 1975 bring a mix of different sounds from the indie anthem ‘Chocolate’ to the guitar riffing new single ‘Sex’, expect to hear new and great things at T In The Park as they preview new material from their forthcoming debut album.

Editors are back to business with new album ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ and its quite possibly one of the best they have made, back on the festival circuit with a set at Glastonbury and also have sets at Reading and Leeds festivals later this summer, the band bring one of the best live shows around, Tom Smith’s dark hauting vocals with the incredible lyrics to match are something that make Editors a special band. Editors are known not to extensively tour, so make sure you don’t miss your chance to see this incredible band live.

Foals

Latest album ‘Holy Fire’ has pushed Foals into the big time, second headline slots at most festivals seems just normal for the indie rockers now, a band that not only bring stunning music, but a fascinating light show. Their sound a mix of indie and math rock bringing  a real rock vibe that makes you dance like there is no tomorrow, there isn’t many bands that can create an atmosphere like this band does. Foals have always carried a reputation as a must see band, don’t miss your chance at T In The Park.

T In The Park takes place this weekend (July 12-14) in Kinross, Scotland and is headlined by Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers. The final few tickets are on sale now.
