Valerie June emerged on the scene with the limited edition release of her début single ‘Workin’ Woman Blues’ earlier this year to critical acclaim. The Tennessee native’s ‘organic moonshine roots music’ captured the attention of audiences and tastemakers alike which led to a début television appearance on BBC’s Later… With Jools Holland.
Having mesmerised audiences on her recent visits to the UK at Bestival and her performance at London’s Scala supporting Ryan Bingham, Valerie returns this time supporting one of the most exciting breakthrough British singer songwriters this year; Jake Bugg on his forthcoming tour. Valerie will be joining Jake from 12th February at the O2 Academy in Birmingham ending on two dates at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire on 28th February.
Following the release of ‘Workin’ Woman Blues’ Valerie’s new single ‘You Can’t Be Told’ written by Valerie with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) and Kevin Augunas (Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Florence + The Machine) will be out early next year and is another insight into her world of beautiful vintage country, gospel and powerful delta blues.

Valerie’s début album ‘Pushin’ Against A Stone’ recorded at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Studio in Nashville will be released later next year through Rob da Bank’s stellar boutique label Sunday Best, home to David Lynch, The Cure and Kitty Daisy and Lewis to name a few.
