Single review: LUNIR ‘Cubs’

Pop music is certainly having a bit of a moment right now and we can’t get enough. Whether its alt-pop, commercial pop or electro-pop – we are here for it. The latest pop act to land on our radar are German-Scottish outfit LUNIR. They’ve just released their undeniably catchy single ‘Cubs’ and we guarantee you’ll have it playing on repeat for the rest of the day (sorry not sorry).

‘Cubs’ is an addictive slice of pop from the offset that combines flawless harmonies, with jangly guitar twangs and pulsating electronic beats to create a sound that is both vibrant and playful. Fans of the likes of Solange and Emily King will feel at home here.

Talking about the single, David Scobie elaborates, “I recently discovered I’m now too big to navigate between the branches of trees and began reminiscing about my childhood friend and I running carefree through the forest like a pair of cubs. This track is about this feeling, like a wild freedom where opportunity for joy abounds.”

‘Cubs’ is out now.
