One of the world’s most loved TV and film stars, Robin Williams was found dead in his home in California last night.
The actor and comedian was 63 and his death is indicated to have been a suicide as a result of asphyxia, but this is yet to definitive and is currently under investigation.
The Marin County Sheriff’s office have said they received an emergency phone call around noon (local time) on Monday stating that Williams was unconscious and not breathing in his home in north San Francisco.
With some of his most famous and popular roles including the voice of the genie in Aladdin, his place in Happy Feet, and his central roles in Jumanji and Mrs Doubtfire, Williams was a hugely inspirational and widely renowned entertainer.
