‘Second Best’ is a bittersweet single about feeling inadequate in society – something we’re sure a lot of people can relate to. Despite the single’s melancholic meaning, its musicality is surprisingly uplifting. Twinkling piano melodies compliment Jewelia’s sweet, timid vocals effortlessly, reminding us of mxmtoon and Maisie Peters as a result.
