Having recently supported The Twilight Sad on their European tour, as well as at a sold out show at the renowned Glasgow Barrowlands, Scottish singer-songwriter Michael Timmons has released his evocative new single ‘The Games Room’.
Written as an ode to his father who passed away last year, ‘The Games Room’ is Timmons most personal release yet. The track opens in a dream-like state led by beautifully plucked electric guitar as it echoes from the speakers. Atmospheric and emotive, Timmons delivery is like a dagger to the heart as his serene expertly delivered vocals neatly knit the track together. The song closes out with Timmons poignantly querying “have you seen him yet?”. ‘The Games Room’ is a sumptuous offering from a talented artist who deserves your undivided attention.
Michael Timmons announced himself through the release of debut album, ‘Bone Coloured’, in 2018 picking up praise from the likes of Steve Lamacq, Tom Robinson, BBC Radio Scotland, The Scotsman, The Skinny and many more. As well as his support of The Twilight Sad, Timmons appeared at Celtic Connections and The Scottish Alternative Awards where he supported Kathryn Joseph. Produced by Frightened Rabbit’s Andy Monaghan, ‘The Games Room’ precedes a headline show at King Tut’s in Glasgow on 20th April with a sophomore album release due out later in 2019.
The Games Room is out on now via Gargleblast Records.
