Launched today on Today FM’s Dermot & Dave Show
Have you ever listened to a radio jingle and thought to yourself, “I could do that!”. Well your chance has arrived with the new Le Crunch Apples 7G Jingle contest. The super healthy apple brand is asking Ireland’s public to create a radio jingle and be in with a chance of winning part of a €7,000 prize fund.
Le Crunch Apples has teamed up with Today FM daytime stars, Dermot & Dave, to begin the search for more hidden Irish talent, following the success of its recent Apple of My Eye Song Contests. This time, Le Crunch Apples is looking for listeners to write a punchy four line jingle and submit it online through the competition website www.ouitolecrunch.com.
The competition begins on Monday February 23 on The Dermot & Dave Show and over the course of the following four weeks, some of the best entries will be used on air while the judges start a selection process that will see five lucky people reach the national final on Friday March 27. Among the judges this year will be hilarious stand-up comedian Fred Cooke and Today FM’s Head of Production, Sinead Buckley.
“This is going to be a real fun competition and we know our Today FM listeners are going to have a ball with it,” said Dermot Whelan of the Dermot & Dave Show. “The best thing is, it’s open to everybody; families, local sports clubs, schools, workplaces and anyone who wants to be a legend in their own ad break.”
The Le Crunch Apples 7G Jingle National Final will take place on Friday March 27 in the Today FM studios, Dublin and will be broadcast live on The Dermot & Dave show. Of the final five contestants, two will be chosen by public vote and three chosen by our panel of judges. They will then be invited with guests to the National Final where they will perform their jingle live on air to over 120,000 Dermot & Dave Show listeners! The public vote will open on March 16 and close at midnight Thursday March 20th.
The overall winner of the competition will walk away with €5000, while the four runner-ups will each receive €500. Today FM’s award-winning production team will also professionally record the winning jingle and it will run on the station for a full week following the competition.
“We are delighted to launch another great competition that encourages artistic talent in Ireland,” said Sandrine Gaborieau, Le Crunch Apples Marketing Director. “Over the last number of years, we have helped discover some amazing young talent across the country and had a lot of fun doing so. We’re very happy to be working again with Today FM and hope that the Le Crunch Apples 7G Jingle contest brings some new creative sparks to wider attention.”
Le Crunch Apples 7G Jingle entries can be submitted online at www.ouitolecrunch.com from Monday February 23 at 2pm. The closing deadline for entries is March 12.
