Wild Beasts & More Announced For Sounds From A Safe Harbour Festival

Wild Beasts were recently announced to join the impressive selection of Irish and International artists taking to Sounds From A Safe Harbour Festival across Cork this September.

Taking place from September 17 – 20, the line-up includes The Gloaming, Aaron Dessner and Lisa Hannigan, Bryce Dessner, Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire) and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra.

 

Also added to the festival programme is a music trail curated by Irish music blogger, Nialler9, which will see some of Ireland’s best contemporary artists perform in Cork’s favourite venues. Acts include Slow Skies, I Am The Cosmos, Somerville, Bantum, Talos, Shookrah, Conor Walsh and Vinyl Love.

 

It’s not all about the music either at Sounds From A Safe Harbour, with plenty of other promised events and activities, including Cork chef Rocketman rustling up some magic on the culinary side, a week long exhibitionin The Glucksman showcasing the mesmerising seascapes of Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, ‘Sail To Sirius’ – where passengers will leave on a vessel to Sirius Arts Centre in Cobh, be treated to a live performance by Landless on board, and receive lunch on the venue’s veranda overlooking Cork Harbour All this and plenty more.

 

There are small number of festival tickets still left for Sounds from a Safe Harbour, and tickets for individual performances across the weekend are available on the festival website www.soundsfromasafeharbour.com. To encourage as many people to participate in Sounds from a Safe Harbour as possible, many of the events during the festival are free entry, details of which can be found on the website.
