Essex four-piece, Secret Company, are set to light up the music scene after the release of their debut EP ‘Saviour’. This highly energetic four-track EP shows the talent and professionalism the band posses and provides an excellent basis for them to develop from.
The EP begins with title track, ‘Saviour’, which has recently been released with an incredible video and submitted to Secret Company’s Talent-house competition; it was directed by Zimbabwean Naison Gumbo. You can watch the official video below.
‘Saviour’ begins with Tim Reyland’s drum beat which instantly makes you feel like you are inside the venue with them performing. The drums provide a very important backbone to the track as they, along with Scott Revell’s enthusiastic vocals, make up the main proportion of the sound. However the catchy riff played over the top will be what is stuck inside your head for days to come. The very simplistic, yet extremely effective, sound created makes this track stand out as it gives an air of professionalism not seen in many debut EP’s.

The following track, ‘Burning Through The Night’, doesn’t disappoint and continues the excellent sound Secret Company are producing. The song flows seamlessly from the previous track without giving you a rest to soak up the emotion from ‘Saviour’. Kushal Gupta’s bass takes the limelight in this song as his stop-start riffs make you feel like you are stood watching him perform – wrapped in his own world amongst the music. Revell’s lyrics seem very relatable and make you picture yourself sat amongst them whilst they’re experiencing these adventures.
‘Fever of Love’ has a lot of energy through the chorus and a higher pitched sound where James Patman’s guitar takes control of the song. This song begins in a similar manner to the first two tracks where Revell’s passionate vocals maintain a powerful, yet emotional, level throughout. This track has the potential to make a crowd jump and dance around and could go on to be a great track live.
The final track ‘Holding On’ brings the tempo back down for a very slow emotional song. The song holds a lot of feelings from the beginning which all build up as the song progresses. The humming in the background almost sounds like a plea for help or the tears shed. All the emotion built up throughout the song explodes towards the end where it is all let out; before falling back to a mellow yet happier sounding ending.
Secret Company look very likely to go onto even bigger and better things following this EP which demonstrates the potential they are showing and the talent they already posses. You must have this EP somewhere in your collection and make an effort to see Secret Company live as these songs will blow any venue and festival away.
