Track Review: Bad Wave – ‘1955’

Following their last single ‘Time To Get Lost’, LA duo Bad Wave have returned with another effervescent offering.

Oozing uplifting melodies, ‘1955’ is inspired by the idea of looking to the future with hope. Talking about the track, the band explain:

“A lot of things happened in 1955. Elvis made his first television appearance. Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat. Steve Jobs was born and Albert Einstein died. Some people wish we could go back to 1955. A nostalgia for a simpler time. But we’re more excited about what’s ahead. We’ve got nostalgia for the future.”

With shades of indie-popsters MGMT or Foster The People, the track buzzes with uptempo beats alongside twinkling hooks and deeply infectious refrains. Bad Wave have created another sweeping slice of electro-pop that dazzles with an enlivening, positive energy.

‘1955’ is out now.
