Thom Yorke Announces New Album

‘Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes’ will made available through BitTorrent.

If you were on the prowl for some bloody brilliant news today, then look no further. Thom Yorke has revealed he will be releasing his second studio album, ‘Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes’Yorke’s sophomore album is being subjected to an experimental BitTorrent release, in a bid to see whether file disruption can help evade traditional ‘mechanics’ of record label releases.

The album announcement may not have come as much too much of a surprise for some, following a string of cryptic tumblr and twitter posts showing off a mystery white vinyl record, as well as various artwork drawings. The drawings look to have been penned by Yorke himself and long time artwork collaborator Stanley Donwood. Yorke explained: “It’s an experiment to see if the mechanics of the system are something that the general public can get its head around. If it works well it could be an effective way of handing some control of internet commerce back to people who are creating the work.”

‘Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes’ tracklisting is as follows:

A Brain In a Bottle
Guess Again!
Interference
The Mother Lode
Truth Ray
There Is No Ice (For My Drink)
Pink Section
Nose Grows Some

‘Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes’ will be Yorke’s first solo release since 2006’s ‘The Eraser’.
