Thiago edging closer to United switch

As always with all the top clubs in this country we’re bombarded with rumours surrounding who’s going to be the next star player coming to the Premier League; Manchester United attract the fair few random rumours but the one thats really gathered a head of steam in the last few days is the impending arrival of Spain U-21 International, Thiago Alcantara.

The nature of how the move has come about is what’s kept the negotiations out of the mainstream media somewhat as one minute United were set to complete and £18m move then Barca were asking for less in exchange for a buy-back clause and the rumours kept circulating but the terms of the deal now appear to be finalised and a flat £18m, release-clause triggering, fee will be paid to Barcelona for the Spanish prospect.

The move is believed to have taken so long because of Barca’s reluctance to let the player leave but after Thiago’s agent visited Manchester yesterday, Thiago is believed to be ready to force the move through in the next few days.

Watch this space as we keep you up to date with United and David Moyes’ second potential move of the summer.
