Swansea City have completed the signing of 21-year-old England international Jonjo Shelvey from Liverpool.
News broke yesterday that a fee had been agreed with Liverpool for the midfielder and the move was completed mere moments ago as Shelvey spent the day completing a medical and finalising personal terms.
Shelvey attracted interest from other Premier League clubs with Crystal Palace believed to be in the running for him initially but Swansea have now won the race to sign him and pen has been put to paper on a four-year deal.
Swansea will now be hoping they can win another transfer battle with another freshly promoted club, great rivals Cardiff City. The two Welsh sides are believed to be in competition for another ex-Liverpool player, Tom Ince. Cardiff and Swansea are both believed to have agreed a fee with Ince’s club, Blackpool, but is believed to have not completed a medical or personal terms with either side.
