Street Fighter®: Assassin’s Fist Unveiled at Comic Con 2013

It was announced, via an onset video, at the Capcom® panel today at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, that the much-anticipated live-action series ‘Street Fighter®: Assassin’s Fist’ has begun filming (as of July 14th).
This series is being tipped to redefine what audiences can expect from live-action video game adaptations. The bi-lingual script penned by Joey Ansah and Christian Howard has attracted some of the top rising and veteran Japanese actors. The official cast list can be announced as follows:
Togo Igawa as ‘GÅ�tetsu’
Joey Ansah as ‘Akuma’
Mike Moh as ‘Ryu’
Christian Howard as ‘Ken’
Akira Koieyama as ‘Gouken’
Shogen as ‘Young Gouken’
Gaku Space as ‘Gouki’
Hyunri as ‘Sayaka’
Veteran actor Hal Yamanouchi, co-star of the upcoming ‘The Wolverine’, and Mark Killeen, from ‘Game of Thrones’, have recently been added to the cast line up. Filming will complete by the end of August for a proposed early 2014 release.
The series is being produced by Jacqueline Quella, whose previous projects include ‘Romanzo Criminale’ ; Academy Award nominated ‘Don’t Tell’; and Tobe Hooper’s ‘The Toolbox Murders’.
 
The series will be directed by Joey Ansah who, as ‘Desh’, was part of one of the most celebrated movie fight scenes of all time, in ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’, and was recently at the heart of the action in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, ‘The Numbers Station’ with John Cusack, and co-star and action director of Lionsgate’s upcoming ‘Greenstreet Underground: Hooligans’.
