Despite her tenders and sheer youthful exuberance, Victoria Celestine is already on her way to finding stardom. Her latest single ‘Carrying On’ is a fun-filled slice of electro pop goodness that may well be your soundtrack of the summer.
‘Carrying On’ radiates feel-good vibes and vibrant synth-pop beats from the offset with a touch of 80s synths for good measure. Victoria’s vocals are on form throughout, falling somewhere between Chvrches‘ Lauren Mayberry, Ellie Goulding and maybe even Grimes if she was covered in glitter. As a track discussing life’s obstacles and how we can overcome them, ‘Carrying On’ certainly makes you feel empowered as well as feeling slightly overwhelmed by shimmering loveliness.
Perhaps leaning slightly too much towards the pop side for some, ‘Carrying On’ may not be everyone’s cup of tea. However, if you what you need is an uplifting banger of a track to blast in your car or enjoy quietly on the train on the way to the beach, this could well be for you.
