West Lothian five-piece, Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieves, are aiming for their eclectic sound to reverberate with a world wide audience through the release of anthemic new single ‘Moonshine’.
The band have gained a reputation for their burgeoning live shows in Scotland which has led to them picking up support slots with Kyle Falconer and recently Lewis Capaldi at Edinburgh’s Summer Sessions. It’s easy to see why crowds are flocking to see this up and coming act with tracks like the popular recent single ‘Tippy Toes’ as well as current banger ‘Moonshine’.
Combining elements of classic rock tropes and modern synth-led soundscapes with stirring choruses and memorable hooks, Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieves straddle the line between indie dance floor fillers and foot stomping rock and roll. It’s this mixture that sets them out from many of their contemporaries and sits them stylistically somewhere between Friendly Fires and Foals.
Their reputation is beginning to take hold north of the border with rowdy shows taking place at the renowned King Tuts and G2 in Glasgow as well as selling out The Garage (Attic) in less than five hours.
With ‘Moonshine’ showing another string to the band’s bow and more music due over the course of 2020, Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieves look set to gain many more fans throughout the UK and beyond.
