Single Review: GEMS – Medusa

Trading in a ukulele for a synth was the magical moment this dreamy-pop duo caught spells of song-craftsmanship.Capturing attention from the likes of ‘NME’ and ‘Pitchfork’ proves GEMS are sure set to whirl up quite a storm.

Wave after wave they weave a rhythmic melody, purring percussions, whilst laying laces of lyrical loveliness time in time out. Rich soul encompasses their compositions, reverently ringing similar sounds to that of London Grammar and The XX.
Recently raising the stakes with ‘Medusa’ Usher & Pitts sail a synth of romantic rumbles, drowning an ethereal echo of a story so heavily cast in stone.
Fusing such introspective imaginations can only push this dynamic duo to greater heights, rendering this new band a definite one to watch.
