Single Review: FYA FOX – Body

Irish singer FYA FOX has just released her new single Body. The sultry pop anthem is the second track from the upcoming pop artist following on from her debut White Lies.

Body opens with FOX’s solitary, hushed vocal as she sings “2am in the morning, trying to figure it out. Another body below me, but it’s you I’m thinking about.” Whispers swirl in the background as the electronic accompaniment begins to build. As FOX hits some angelic high notes in the chorus the synths and drum pads start to reach their stride. A peppering of electronic flourishes and off-kilter beats are all the track needs to nail FOX’s signature pared back, RnB-infused sound.

FYA FOX is a classically trained vocalist and notes Banks, Lana Del Rey and London Grammar as influences. The inspiration from these artists can be felt through FOX’s confessional lyrics and stripped back production. She looks set to make her mark on the alternative pop scene is certainly one to watch in 2021.

FYA FOX’s 2020 debut single White Lies received radio airplay across the UK and Ireland plus an exclusive from Radio One’s Gemma Bradley on BBC Across The Line. The track also received praise from Irish titles Nialler9 and The Last Mixed Tape.

Body is available to download and stream now. Find out more about FYA FOX here and have a listen to Body below.
