Single Review: Daani – Two Hands

Perhaps the most striking thing about Daani is how her vocals are seamlessly interwoven into a carefully constructed atmospheric palette of sounds. Having previously provided back up vocals for Miley Cyrus, the demands of delivering consistently at a  high level are something that the New York native appears to take in her stride.

Her influences include the likes of Stevie Wonder,  Jessie Ware, and Sia but to name a few. Daani has previously released an EP appropriately titled “EP” which is comprised of a collection of more dramatic and emotive music.

In comparison to the more slow burning sounds of ‘EP’, Two Hands certainly feels like a shift in energy but not a miscalculated one at that. Throughout all of Daani’s music, and especially in Two Hands, the one thing that really stands our are her vocals, and the only word to describe them is; immaculate.

Having gradually built up into a mass of vocals, strings and other manner of ‘spacey’ sounds, the song ends in a more restrained fashion. Now residing in Nashville Tennessee, only time will tell just how good this up-and-coming singer is to become.
