Single review: Copper Viper ‘Hung Up Alone’

We hope you’ve got your dancing shoes on because Copper Viper’s ‘Hung Up Alone’ is guaranteed to get your toes tapping regardless of if you like folk music or not, so get ready.

‘Hung Up Alone’ is undeniably catchy from the offset, filled with impressive skills from both Duncan Menzies (vocals / mandolin / fiddle) and Robin Joel Sangster (vocals / acoustic guitar). The pair’s vocal harmonies are on point throughout as well, and the lyrics have got that instantly infectious singalong feel that you’ll be humming along to for days. A particularly impressive moment is Menzies’ fiddle solo towards the end of the track, which we’d imagine live is even more mesmerising. Of course, this isn’t a genre for everyone, but Copper Viper manage to combine a traditional folk feel with warmth and a truly uplifting presence that could put a smile on anyone’s face. So sit back, relax, and get those toes tapping.

‘Hung Up Alone’ is out now via Under The Bower Records.
