Review: We Are Saviours – Years

Birmingham based four piece We Are Saviours have released their first single of 2013, ‘Years’.

The intro is reverby plucked guitar over Jay Adam’s vocals about how “The years are going by way to fast” but Adam’s vocals are over though and just lack all feeling or emotion.  The sound of the band is manufactured pop rock, decent pop rock I give them that, but it’s nothing we haven’t heard many times over.

The video is more style than substance. Many shots of the band are in abandoned buildings trying their hardest to be mysterious and sexy, set against band shots in flaky painted room. This might trick teenage girls into thinking that We Are Saviours are a stadium filling band of the future, not me.

If you peek behind the facade ‘Years’ paints of an up and coming pop rock band, you’ll see that We Are Saviours are run of the mill, at best.
