PREMIERE: Jay Boland – Perfect Crime

Set for release towards the end of the Summer, with an exact date to be confirmed, Jay Boland’s self-titled EP incorporates three versatile tracks, co-produced by himself, Eamon Cooke and Ray McLoughlin.

Comprised of two very different originals and an impeccable, unique cover of Jermaine Stewart’s ‘We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off’, the EP is an impressive showcase of Jay’s musical ability. Speaking about the cover track, Jay says: “I’ve always loved this song and I really wanted to change up the arrangement and perform it in a completely different way”.

Both originals take a very different twist in genre; ‘Perfect Crime’ as the upbeat lead track, hosting what Jay describes as a “carribean/reggae fusion vibe”, and ‘Harder To Breathe’ comes off as a much more mellow track with glitches of electronic sounds and all round airy, clear-cut vocals.

We’re delighted to premiere the lead track ‘Perfect Crime’ here on Fortitude Magazine before the release of the EP. We’ll be keeping you up to date on all news related to the EP release, so stay tuned.
