It has been known for a while that J.J. Abrams will be doing a second Star Trek movie. But now, Star Trek fans will be excited to see that the plot synopsis for the upcoming film has now been released by Paramount Pictures giving fans a few clues of what to expect.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organisation has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.”
Star Trek ‘Into Darkness’ will be released in May, 2013 and will see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Bruce Greenwood renewing their roles.The upcoming film will also see new faces with Alice Eve and Benedict Cumberbatch, who is rumoured to be playing the role of Khan; one of Star Trek’s notorious villains.
