Bestival have today announced their first will be hip-hop duo Outkast.
Andre 3000 and Big Boi will perform at the event, which takes place between 4th and 7th September, as a part of their reunion tour, which will see them perform at over 40 festivals worldwide.
Bestival have also announced that the fancy dress theme for this year’s festival will be Desert Island Disco, following on from last year’s nautical, HMS Bestival theme.
On the booking of Outkast, festival curator Rob da Bank said “Hey ya! By the power invested in me as chief Bestival booker, I’m pretty darn excited to announce that OutKast are headlining Bestival this year! We’ve fought hard to get the recently reunited legendary hip-hop duo onto the ferry… and it’s no ordinary ferry this year as Bestival goes Desert Island Disco for 2014… Palm trees, grass skirts and mirrorballs are the order of the day. It truly is gonna be the Bestival yet!”
2014 is the 20th anniversary of Outkast’s debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and will see them perform together for the first time in 10 years.
