The Oscars 2014: Round Up

The Oscars has come and gone for another year. Here is your round up of the winners and highlights from this years ceremony.

 

Spoiler alert. Leonardo Dicaprio went home empty handed for the fourth time after being nominated for the best actor category.

 

The biggest winner on the night was Gravity scooping up a seven awards. While Gravity stole the show on the awards front Ellen Degeneres broke a twitter record with a possibly the most A-list selfie you will ever see.

Best Actress: Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine

 

Best supporting Actor: Jared Leto, Dallas Buyers Club

 

Best supporting actress: Lupita Nyongo’o, 12 years a slave

 

Best Costume Design: Catherine Martin, The Great Gatsby

 

Best Short Film (animation): Mr Hulbot

 

Best Animation:  Frozen

 

Best Visual Effects: Gravity

 

Best Short: Helium

 

Best Documentary short: The lady in number 6: music saved my life

 

Best Documentary: 20 feet from stardom

 

Best foreign film: The great beauty (Italy)

 

Best sound mixing: Gravity

 

Best sound editing: Gravity

 

Best cinematography: Emmanuel Lubezki, Gravity

 

Best editing: Gravity

 

Best production design: Catherine Martin and Beverly Dunn, The Great Gatsby

 

Best original score: Steven Price, Gravity

 

best original song: Let It Go, Frozen

 

Best adapted screen play: John Ridley, 12 years a slave

 

Best original screen play: Spike Jonze, Her
