Of Mice And Men bounce back with ‘You’re Not Alone’

The past month has been a busy one for Of Mice & Men…

Recently they have been announced that they will be joining Sheffield lads Bring Me The Horizon on their ‘American Dream’ tour and then last week they announced the release date of their forthcoming album ‘Restoring Force’ on January 24th 2014. This week they have announced the first song, ‘You’re Not Alone‘. When talking about the Album, Austin Carlile asked “What happens after a disaster? What happens after The Flood?”. “You return to normal. You find balance again. That’s what we felt like we were doing with this album. We wanted this record to bring equilibrium back to our band and music. We’re letting everyone know that we’re here to stay. We’re Restoring Force.”

You’re Not Alone‘ is the first single off the new album and what a start it is. It’s a great introduction for the bands new clean vocalist Aaron Pauley (formerly of Jamie’s Elsewhere) after he replaced Shayley Bourget who left the band in 2012. Pauley brings a different sound to that heard on ‘The Flood’ but it is just as good. The new single is a bit gentle when compared to some of the bands earlier work but it still packs a punch filled with a fierce truth. The music itself sounds as though it could appeal to a wider crowd. It sounds a bit more like mainstream rock music which is in no way, shape or form a bad thing.

If the single and album aren’t enough to show you that they are here to stay, Of Mice & Men are one of the first bands to be announced for Reading and Leeds as well as being announced for Texas’ prestigious SXSW.
