Little Scream shares ‘Love As A Weapon’

The Montreal multi-instrumentalist recently signed to Merge and Dine Alone Records.

Canadian artist Little Scream has unveiled new track ‘Love As A Weapon’, and has announced that she will release a new LP later this year. Little Scream, aka Laurel Sprengelmeyer, recently signed to Merge and Dine Alone Records, and has unveiled her excitement at releasing her new record under her new labels:

“Merge is a cultural monolith in my world, and I’m amped and honored to be working with them… The record I just made is a crazy beast, and I can’t think of a better home for it”

Found somewhere between the graceful pop tones of St. Vincent, The Talking Heads and The Dirty Projectors, ‘Love As A Weapon’ is an evolved and funky follow-up to her debut album, 2011’s The Golden Record. You can listen to ‘Love As A Weapon’ below. Dicing with art-rock, indie-rock and coiled pop, Little Scream’s unique sound has gained her plaudits from the likes of NPR, Pitchfork, SXSW. Serving as a taster for her forthcoming album, my guess is that there will be plenty more plaudits come the end of the year.
