2012 was the year Kendrick Lamar stepped into the spotlight to claim the biggest-selling debut album (Good Kid, m.A.A.d City’), for any new artist in the US – selling over 240k copies in one week alone.
The 25 year old Compton native after recently completing a sold-out UK tour, which was well-received by critics and fans alike has now announced further UK tour dates in Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds this summer. Tickets go on-sale 9am on Friday 12th April.
As well as being hailed as the new voice/face of West Coast hip hop from his peers and winning numerous accolades such as BET’scoveted ‘Hip Hop Lyricist of The Year’ Award. Simply put, Kendrick is the name on everyone’s lips.
Continuing his success into the New Year and following up his critically-acclaimed album, Kendrick recently re-released the fan favourite ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’ produced by T-Minus, out now through Top Dawg Entertainment/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records.
