Kali Uchis drops incredible EP ‘Por Vida’

Kali Uchis is one of those artists you can just feel is about to absolutely take off.

With an EP released this week entitled ‘Por Vida’ available for free download (magic words), she has a Virginia-soaked sound reminiscent of something Frank Ocean would put out. If that isn’t a seal of approval, we don’t know what is.

Sure, I was interested when I heard track production came from Tyler, the Creator, Kaytranada and BADBADNOTGOOD (more magic words to me), but Holy Jesus Christ this girl can throw one hell of a beat down.

The EP begins with ‘Sycamore Tree’; a beautifully endearing acapella that builds on airy vocals and remains without instrumentals, leaving you to fill in the blanks with your own humming.
Her voice is one that breaks hearts completely, with a plodding Odd Future-curated percussion in ‘Call Me’ whose haunting lyrics float while she half raps, half hums.

This is blissfully unaware music that reduces any work commute to a stroll in the park.

For the rest of the EP, we implore you to check out and download her EP.
