Following the US release of their new album ‘Out Of The Wasteland’, set to drop in the UK later this month, Lifehouse are also set to tour the UK and Ireland in September and October.
We caught up with lead singer Jason Wade to chat about the new album and touring, as well as asking him some of YOUR questions.
Your new album ‘Out Of The Wasteland’ comes out in the UK on 22nd of this month. The anticipation seems to be massive amongst fans, how does it feel for you guys?
It feels good to be making music on our own terms this time around, writing and recording for the simple love of it.
I saw that you said you sort of “went back to the beginning” with this album. What does that mean in terms of the writing and recording process? What was the most enjoyable part of it all for you?
Rediscovering that spark we had in the beginning was paramount. Finding that joy and innocence was what we were after.
Is there one particular track on the new record that you enjoyed working on most or are most proud of?
Hourglass was a great moment. Getting to collaborate with James Newton Howard and Jude, was a definite highlight.
You’re set to do a UK & Ireland tour in September / October, are you looking forward to that?
Absolutely! Some of my favorite shows that I’ve ever played were in the Uk and Ireland.
A second London date was added due to demand, that must feel amazing? When was the last time you played London and can you remember what it was like?
Last time we played London I was really sick. The crowd at Shepherds Bush was so fantastic, they carried me through the whole show.

Coldplay on the viva la vida tour. Magical night. Very impactful.
@berenkuil – Would you consider re-releasing Diff’s Lucky Day or some song from it like you did with Storm?
Definitely something to be thinking about. That album contains the bones that became No Name Face.
@RanelleC – If you weren’t musicians what would you be doing?
Before I was a musician I was into martial arts. I probably would have pursued that.
@Aftershock088 – Why was the album title changed from ‘Seven’?
Seven seemed too predictable. Out of the Wasteland represents where we are at right now as a band.
@Elly_jays – Favourite line you’ve written?
The broken locks were a warning, You got inside my head. I tried my best to be guarded, I’m an open book instead.
