Grammy Nominations Announced: Kendrick Lamar, Courtney Barnett, Tame Impala and more

Kendrick Lamar leads the way with 11 nominations, including Album of the Year for To Pimp A Butterfly.

This morning (December 7th), the nominees for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards were announced. People’s poet Kendrick Lamar has been nominated for 11 awards in 9 different categories, including Album of the Year, Best Rap Performance, and Song of the Year for ‘Alright’.

Other nominees include Taylor Swift for Record of the Year with ‘Blank Space’, Courtney Barnett for Best New Artist, and The Weeknd for Best Urban Contemporary Album with The Beauty Behind The Madness.

Jamie xx, Caribou, The Chemical Brothers, Disclosure, and Skrillex and Diplo are up for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Alabama Shakes, Björk, My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, and Wilco make up the billing for Best Alternative Album.

There are also nominations for the likes of Nicki Minaj, J. Cole, Andra Day, Drake, Slipknot, Wolf AliceBéla Fleck & Abigail Washburn and many more. You can read the full Grammy 2016 nominations here.
