Gabrielle Aplin Unveils Title Track Off New Album ‘Light Up The Dark’

Following the success of her debut album ‘English Rain’, Gabrielle Aplin has been laying low, revealing now that her second album was in the works.

‘Light Up The Dark’ is set for release on September 18th, showcasing a range of brand new tracks.

Having released the title track, along with its official music video yesterday, the song takes on a darker, braver, more daring sound than the lighter, gentle sound executed previously on 2013’s ‘English Rain’.

Gabrielle has said the album is influenced by the work of Joni Mitchell, as well Feist’s ‘The Reminder’.

“Her voice is just here, right at the front, and everything sits around it perfectly. I’ve also become much more comfortable writing songs about other people’s stories as well as my own, much of which is inspired by travelling and everything I’ve seen since my first album.”
