Grammy award winning artist Frank Ocean has revealed a brand new song online. Titled ‘Memrise’, the track is a fluid motion of jazzy guitars and soft-spoken soprano, askew with a tonic of secular synthesisers and effects.
With no indication if the track will be released as a single, it looks just as ambiguous as to whether ‘Memrise’ will appear on Ocean’s long awaited follow-up album to 2012’s Channel Orange.
The lyrics to the stripped down 1 minute 57 second track include: “I memorised the way no directions, can I come over now, I’d like stay a little while, I memorised your body exposed, I could fuck you all night long from a memory alone, I’ll never forget her face”. Leaked on his official tumblr page this morning (28th November), there is no doubt that this surprise burst of activity will have fans excited.
Reports earlier this year has suggested that Ocean was working alongside producers Hit-Boy and Rodney Jerkins on a new record. However, no album appears to have transpired as of yet.
