Drake Cancels Headline Slot At This Weekends Wireless Festival

American rapper Drake has cancelled his headline appearance at Wireless Festival, with Kanye West and Rudimental stepping up to replace him.

Due to take place this weekend in Birmingham and London, Drake has announced he is ‘unfit’ to perform due to illness and will be replaced by Kanye West in London on Saturday and Rudimental will play an extended set with “very special guests” in Birmingham on Friday.

Ticket holders heading to Birmingham tomorrow (4th July) when Drake was due to headline will also receive a £20 Wireless voucher. Drake released a statement about his cancellation:

To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can’t wait to come back to make more incredible memories together.”

Wireless Festival takes place this weekend in London and Birmingham, with Bruno Mars the third headliner over the weekend.
