Voted ‘Best Festival’ at the NME Awards, this year’s Reading & Leeds Festivals are officially set to be better than ever! Reading & Leeds guarantee special performances, huge headliners and rising stars and are the only place to spend the August Bank Holiday weekend with friends this summer.
With exclusive UK festival performances from headliners Green Day, Eminem and Biffy Clyro, plus exclusive appearances from Fall Out Boy, System of A Down, Deftones, Skrillex and more, Reading & Leeds can now announce over 30 more names for the Festivals.
The Pretty Reckless and Don Broco have been announced for Main Stage slots. Don Broco have been gaining momentum in the mainstream as a rock band to watch, and continuing on from their success at Radio 1 they are making a mark on the British rock scene and beyond. Following their thrilling Festival Republic Stage performance at the festivals last year, they step up to the Main Stage for what will no doubt be an insane performance.
Moving into the NME/Radio 1 stage, new announcements include Night Engine, Villagers, Wavves, Deaf Havana and the energetic Darwin Deez. Darwin Deez never fails to bring a brilliant entertaining live show and will play the NME/Radio 1 stage in support of his new album ‘Songs For Imaginative People’. Joining Darwin Deez on the NME/Radio 1 Stage will be Norfolk alternative rock band Deaf Havana, renowned for their soaring melodies and candid lyrics, the band’s success continues to grow and with their highly anticipated new album ‘Old Souls’ due out in September, be sure to catch them before they get even bigger.
The stages that the latest announcement concentrated most on though were the Lock Up Stage and the Festival Republic Stage. Announced for the Lock Up Stage were: Feed The Rhino, The Creepshow, Rat Attack, Palm Reader, Gnarwolves, Sonic Boom Six, Off With Their Heads, Chuck Ragan, Anti Vigilante, Sharks, Great Cynics, Filter, Hacktivist, The Virginmarys, Beware of Darkness and Hawkeyes.
Meanwhile on the Festival Republic Stage, the latest bands announced come in the form of Papa, Charlie Boyer And The Voyeurs, Savages, DIIV, Dan Croll, Sons & Lovers, Mount Kimbie, Frankie & The Heatstrings, In The Valley Below, China Rats and Australian indie four-piece San Cisco.
Other announcements include Alvin Risk, Post War Years, Pegboard Nerds, Itch and Chance The Rapper.
