Caro Emerald Scores First UK Number 1 Album

Caro Emerland has entered the UK Charts at Number 1 with her second album ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’.

This is Caro’s highest UK chart position – her debut album, 2010’s ‘Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor’ peaked at number 4. Released jointly in Britain by UK independent label Dramatico and Grandmono, the Dutch label set up by Caro and her producers and songwriters David Schreurs & Jan Van Wieringen. ‘The Shocking Miss Emerald’ contains 14 of Caro’s trademark retro-pop songs, a winning formula that has connected with fans right across Europe.

Speaking from her home in Amsterdam, Caro said: “I’m humbled by this exciting news. Its such a huge recognition for the hard work we’ve put in to this record. I want to give a big thank you to all the fans and everybody who has supported us over the last few years. Thank you!”

Having sold out her March UK tour (including a date at the Royal Albert Hall) Caro recently announced a 14 date September tour which is already sold out. Caro will also be performing at Hello Magazine’s 25th anniversary celebrations in London this week.
