Big Mouth Strikes Again: ”Eating Meat Is No Different To Rape” Says Morrissey

Morrissey has been a merchant for controversy since his days of pompadoured love-sick ballads were over. Many of us, who cling onto the new-romantic era of the 1980’s, hail The Smiths singer as somewhat of a King, a poet in his own right, a messiah of alluring gloom – Me however, i’m tired of his washed-out attempts to cause a war of words in the mainstream media.

Morrissey, who appears to give off the idea that he couldn’t care less for contemporary ways of life, keeps coming back into the press with more hare-brained and outlandish utterances.

In a Q&A session with beloved fans, the melancholic maestro slurred ”I see no difference between eating animals and paedophilia, They are both rape, violence, murder. If I’m introduced to anyone who eats beings, I walk away”, going onto add “Imagine, for example, if you were in a nightclub and someone said to you: ‘Hello, I enjoy bloodshed, throat-slitting and the destruction of life,’ well, I doubt if you’d want to exchange phone numbers,”.

At first glance, Morrissey’s comments may appear erratic and estranged, and as a fellow proclaimed vegetarian, I can see the point that is trying to be made, but it is the intemperate execution that bewilders my mind, the comments that the poncing past-time has made are of such radical, ear-turning proportions that we can only be left to believe that this is Morrissey claim to getting his ‘inspiring’ ideologies, and his risible silver locks back into the fresh newspapers of today – what’s that expression.. today’s newspapers are tomorrows chip papers?, this is motion that explains exactly how to deal with Morrissey constant wallows of egotistic haughtiness, let’s just discard them and forgot they ever existed.

As the icing on the cake, Morrissey went onto cry ‘,, a comment set to offend those connected to the horrific, fascist ruled undertakings in the time of Nazi-Germany, but, it’s alright isn’t it? Morrissey is a multi-award winning singer, he reached a nation new-wave juveniles searching for a song to sing… right? In making such manic suggestions, Morrissey offends victims on the other end of the argument, who have their personal traumas, ridiculed and compared dropping into your local McDonald’s and demolishing a Chicken Mayo. Flip Morrissey’s words around and you’ll understand the former notion, ” Oh you’ve been raped? you know what that is similar to? eating meat”. The very idea of it is ridiculous, and his words deserve all the ridicule they attract.

Everybody knows, Morrissey is a pure bred northern lad, who dragged himself up from the garden of insanity , – otherwise known  as Manchester, and as I sit, in my south Manchester home, only miles away from the Salford Lads Club where The Smiths found their gate to success, and deliberate on the convictions he has made, I can’t help but understand his out-spoken and shocking exterior, when Morrissey has a point to make, he paints it up in every color of the wind and sells it to an unknowing audience, only to come down on them like a ten-ton truck and disquiet them to a state of attention, is almost.. well, commendable, but it’s so hard to look at the distressed diva as though he holds any rational bones in his body, which takes away any substance his word may have, whether he’s refusing to take interviews while leather is present in the room, refusing to perform with bands with different ideologies to him or just being a general pain in the arse, it’s not engaging anymore, it’s not stimulating.

Morrissey, voice of the people? This erratic egotist isn’t even the voice of Trafford.
