Album Review: Benjamin Yellowitz ‘Peel Back The Pleasure’

Multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Yellowitz continues to mesmerise with the release of his latest album ‘Peel Back The Pleasure’, out now via Veta Records.

There are many layers to this stunningly introspective album and there is a lot to unpack but at its very core is an album that explores relationships – be that platonic or not – and how they can effect us. Each track on the album is highly relatable but for us, a personal favourite has to be ‘Bad Dad Club’.

Discussing themes of gender, queerness and complex family relationships, the previously released single is brave, bold and beautiful. Combining ambient electronica with a sense of acoustic splendour, Yellowitz creates a sound that is undeniably atmospheric and lyrically poignant as a result.

Past supporters include The Line of Best FitNoctis MagazineMahogany and Dummy Mag, as well as plays on BBC Introducing West Midlands and Amazing Radio

With ‘Peel Back The Pleasure’, Yellowitz hopes to continue to mesmerise listeners with his unique blend of ambient folktronica.
