Danish artist Lucas Berner – aka The Chairman – started out creating tunes alone in his bedroom, but has now gained plenty of acclaim across Denmark, and has recently released his soaring new single.
Dwelling on the barriers faced by anxiety and depression, ‘Animate’ is a musically rich, deeply reflective offering. Filled with Berner’s sweeping, soulful deep drawl, chiming synth-drive melodies and throbbing beats, it’s a thought-provoking slice of melancholic electro-pop.
Reminiscent of the likes of Lampchop and Aquilo, ‘Animate’ offers a contemplative, yet uplifting, creation that brings together shades of R’n’B with soulful, chilled-out Lounge vibes. It seems The Chairman has demonstrated his ability to beguile and soothe, with this deep, resounding soundscape.
