Tom Hardy attached to Splinter Cell

With Assassin’s Creed being in its early development stages, Ubisoft have wasted no time in announcing that they also intend in making a movie based on the popular Splinter Cell games. And they appear to be making swift progress with Eric Singer being hired to write the script and Tom Hardy being casted for the main role, Sam Fisher.

For those unfamiliar with the games, Splinter Cell centres on a highly trained agent, Fisher, who uses stealth and very cool goggles to take down his enemies. The games have been popular ever since the first one came out in 2002 and so the news of it being developed in to a movie will surely be exciting for its fans as will the casting of Tom Hardy.

Hardy is the well-known for his roles in Inception as well as The Dark Knight Rises which gives this film a lot of promise. However, with the movie already having a fan base, there will be a lot of pressure to deliver and to keep the storyline close to the games.

So with the news of Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell being made in to films, are there any other games you would like to see being developed on to the big screen?
