Hello world and welcome to the Fortitude Magazine Games section’s inaugural, Something For The Weekend.
This week we’d recommend watching Charlie Brooker’s excellent documentary: Videogames Changed The World on 4OD which aired on Saturday the 30th at 9pm, on Channel 4. This was quite a coup for videogames to occupy a spot in primetime television.
Don’t take the show as gospel. However, it is an interesting look at the effect of videogames on popular culture and society. It also charts their evolution from the rudimentary Pong to the mind-blowing next-gen consoles we have today from the likes of Microsoft and Sony.
The last thing to add is, it’s totally accessible. This isn’t just for gamers, it’s for everyone. It’s a must watch, especially if you’re in the arts or creative sectors. You might even learn a thing or two.
