Soldado completes Spurs switch

Tottenham Hotspur have today confirmed what has long been in the pipeline as they’ve completed the signing of 28-year-old Spanish international, Roberto Soldado.

The North London side have been in the hunt for a proven finisher for a long while now and many pundits and ex-players have said that their inability to secure a striker in January ultimately cost them a coveted fourth-placed finish last season but the signing of Soldado is surely a massive step in the right direction. And so it should be, as the former Real Madrid youth player cost a hefty £26m.

Confirmation of the deal has been merely a formality for the past few days as the only thing holding up the deal was a dispute between Valencia and Soldado’s agent over fees but those details have now also been finalised and the striker, who scored 24 league goals last season, will complete the move subject to a medical which is due to take place today.
