Brooklyn band Tuff Sunshine head to the UK this week as they prepare to play three shows around the country. Ahead of them jetting into Blighty, Tuff Sunshine have dropped their latest single, No Juice.
A one man band of sorts, Tuff Sunshine are led by founder John Leitera alongside a cavalcade of musicians joining the band both on stage and in the studio. While the likes of drummer Linda Pitmon (The Baseball Project, The Minus 5, Filthy Friends), bassist Turner Stough (Shilpa Ray, I am The Polish Army), Rich Hutchins (Live Skull) and founding member Ani Cordero (Cordero, Os Mutantes, Ras-putina) have all contributed, Leitera has taken on sole writing responsibilities in recent years.
The results have been impressive with a series of singles launching from 2022 onwards, climaxing with the hallucinatory new single, No Juice. The track offers Leitera the perfect platform to deliver his literary take on the modern world. Leitera encapsulates the difficulties many of us encounter living in a big city as we dissolve further into the chaos. The music is deliberately uncomfortable, swirling around your head and grasping you in its disorientating, claustrophobic grip. Positively bonkers, No Juice is an alternative earworm, and all the better for Leitera’s unique vision as an artist.
John Leitera will support the release of No Juice by playing three dates in the UK starting with the Plough Inn, Bristol, tonight before heading to The RockNRoll Brewhouse in Birmingham on the 7th and culminating with a London show at The Gladstone Arms on Sunday 8th September.
No Juice is out now and is taken from the forthcoming full-length album Vanity Matrix, which will be released on 4th October via Declared Goods.
