Single Review: Superego ‘Sleep’

Midlands based four-piece Superego have unveiled their shimmering debut single, Sleep, via Big Indie Records.

Opening with a wall of distorted guitars, Sleep embraces the spirit of 90’s grunge subculture and combines it beautifully with the lavish, layered soundscapes associated with shoegaze, as the dream like vocals of Cam Potts take centre stage.

Sleep is a wonderful opening salvo by a band who have already supported the likes of Black Honey as well as touring with Pale Waves, The Big Moon and Dead!.

With Sleep dropping today, and an appearance at DIY Magazine’s Big Indie Big Nights showcase on June 13th at Tileyard Studios pencilled in, Superego look set to take 2018 by the scruff of the neck and make it their own.

Listen to Sleep below. Tickets for DIY’s Big Indie Big Nights are available for free here.
